Tomato chutney is delicious, tangy and spicy side for rice, roti or dosa. Traditionally in southern part of India, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, this is very popular. Eat this tomato chutney with hot rice and a hint of ghee(clarified butter), the taste is out of this world.
garlic 1 pod
green chilly 3
split channa dhal 1/4 cup
peanuts 1 tsp (optional)
coriander leaves 1/2 cup
tamarind paste 1/2 tsp
oil 1 tps
Heat oil in a pan, add peanuts and green chillies.
Saute for few seconds, add tomato and garlic.
Cook till the tomatoes are mushy.
Grind the cooked stuff with tamrind paste, salt, coriander leaves and split channa dhal.
Enjoy the chutney as a side for dosa or hot rice.
