This is one of my experimental recipes which i came up using whatever ingredients i had on hand. I did not have a great deal of time to get the curry done. So decided to put in all the ingredients and let it simmer and cook. It turned out to be a good side dish. The minty, spicy potatoes goes well with roti.
Ingredients
potatoes 15 small
mint leaves 1 cup
coriander leaves 1/4 cup
jeera 1 tsp
whole black pepper 6
green chillies 6
tomato 1 small
curds 2-3 tsps
oil 4 tsp
turmeric 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
water for grinding
Method
Wash the potatoes well. Cut them into slightly big pieces with the skin on it. (Don’t need to remove the skin for this.)
Grind mint leaves, coriander leaves, jeera, whole black pepper, green chillies and tomato in to a paste with lil water.
Heat oil in a deep pan.
Add the cut potatoes, turmeric and cook for a 2-3 mins.
Pour the masala over the potatoes.
Mix in the curds and salt to taste.
Turn down the heat of the stove to low, cover it with the lid and let cook till potatoes are cooked completely.
Enjoy the flavorful potatoes with rotis..
