Jeera dosa is a crispy instant dosa, which can be eaten without any side dish. It is a popular dish in Karnataka, India. It is mildly flavored with seasoning made with oil, jeera, mustard and red chillies. My mom made many types of these instant dosas, this is one of the favorites..
Ingredients
rice flour 1 cup
fine rava 1 cup
salt to taste
water as needed for the mixing batter
for seasoning
oil 4 tsp
jeera 1 tsp
mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
red chilly 2 broken into big pieces
Method
for seasoning
Heat oil in a small pan, add jeera and mustard seeds.
Let crackle, add the broken red chillies.
Let cook for a min.
for batter
Mix rice flour, fine rava, salt and water in a bowl.
The batter should be watery consistency.
Add the seasoning made above to the batter
making dosas
Heat a dosa tava/pan for 2-3 mins.
Take a ladle of dosa batter and pour it on the hot dosa tava/pan.
Note: the batter due to its thin consistency will spread nicely.
Add 1/2 tsp oil, let cook till light brown color and crisp.
Flip the dosa add another 1/2 tsp and cook for a min.
Ready to serve..
