A dish that has a rich taste with peas, evaporated milk, spices and methi leaves. Added evaporated milk to get the rich taste with a healthy twist :)..
fenugreek/methi leaves 1 cup
peas 1 1/2 cup
evaporated milk 1 can
jeera 1/2 tsp
ginger 1 tbsp minced
onion 1/2 chopped
tomato 1 chopped (optional)
turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
dhaniya powder 1 tsp
garam masala 1 tsp
red chili powder 1 tsp
salt to taste
oil 1 Tbsp
Soak methi leaves in salt for 10-15 mins chop and wash well.
Remove all the water and set the methi leaves aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add jeera and allow it to splutter.
Add onions, turmeric, ginger and cook until onions are a light golden color.
Add tomatoes and cook for 5 mins.
Add peas, dhaniya powder, red chili powder, garam masala and salt.
Mix well, cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Add methi leaves and cook covered until peas and methi leaves are cooked for 5 mins.
Mix in evaporated milk and bring to a boil.
Enjoy hot with roti, naan or jeera rice.
