Palak paneer is very popular dish in the northern part of India. It is very simple dish that has a great blend of spices and has a creamy taste. It could fall under the comfort food category. Something that tastes great any meal of the day which is packed with all the nutrition of palak/spinach.
Palak 2 cups
Ginger 1 inch
Garlic 3 pods
Red chillies 2
Paneer as desired cut into cubes
Garam masala 1 1/2 tsp
Turmeric a pinch
Salt to taste
Butter 1 tsp
Oil 3 tsp
Milk 1/2 cup
Cook the palak in the microwave for 6-8 mins and set aside.
Heat butter and oil in a pan.
Add ginger, garlic, jalapeno, red chillies, turmeric and fry for 1-2 mins.
Remove the contents of the pan (leave the oil in the pan), set aside and let cool.
In the same pan add onion, tomato and fry till tomatoes are mushy.
Blend the fried ginger, garlic, chillies with cooked palak.
Transfer to the pan once the tomatoes are fully cooked.
Add salt, garam masala, paneer and bring to a boil so that all the flavor is infused into the paneer.
Now add milk and simmer for 10 mins.
Enjoy the palak paneer with roti or jeera rice.
